The programme often used what was evidently canned laughter to augment certain moments. The instance where Paul shows the audience a "hole" (around the 2'18m mark) produces a very distinctive laugh, supposedly from an audience member, that can be heard at the same tempo in many other episodes.
Some elements of this episode may shock a little when watched in the modern era. These include Paul Daniels putting on a stereotypical "Chinese" accent (in front of a Chinese audience member) and some of the routine of Johnny Paul, including saying he's going to place his hand down the tops of two women from the audience.
Johnny Paul's act, while going over fairly well, often has a muted response from the audience, perhaps unused to his mock-brusque demeanour and unsure what to make of his patter.
