Exclusive: After successfully launching the Extraction film franchise at Netflix, director Sam Hargrave has his eyes set on another potential franchise with a piece of IP that is revving its engines to get out the gate. Sources tell Deadline that Skydance and Mattel Films have closed a deal with Hargrave to direct a live-action movie based on Matchbox, Mattel’s iconic real-world die-cast toy vehicle line. David Coggeshall and Jonathan Tropper are penning the script.
Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce alongside Robbie Brenner for Mattel Films. The project will be shepherded by Aimee Rivera for Skydance and Elizabeth Bassin and Andrew Scannell for Mattel Films.
The iconic Matchbox brand was invented in 1953 by automotive enthusiast Jack Odell to solve a challenge for his daughter, who was allowed to take a toy to school only if it was small enough to fit in a matchbox.

Lee Daniels and Mo’Nique publicly confirmed that they are back on good terms after 13 years when the “Precious” star brought the director onstage during a Friday night comedy show.
In video captured from the event, Daniels can be seen standing with his arm around the comedian in front of the Staten Island audience at “Mo’Nique and Friends: April Fools’ Day with the Queen of Comedy.”
“I am so sorry for hurting you in any way that I did,” he said to a visibly tearful Mo’Nique.
“Y’all, and she was my best friend – my best friend. Y’all think that ‘Precious’ was just… That was God working through both of us,” he continued. “And we gon’ f–ing do it again!”
“I love you,” they repeated to each other.

Thirteen years after their collaboration on "Precious" wowed audiences and garnered six Oscar nominations, performer Mo'Nique and writer-director Lee Daniels are reuniting for a new project. The news comes via Deadline, whose reporting notes that the pair were estranged for more than a decade following the release of "Precious." Mo'Nique, who was paid a mere 50,000 for her role in "Precious," said that the feud came about because she was "blackballed" for not participating in the movie's promotional tour, since doing so was not in her contract.

While there’s been a spate of promising under-the-radar horror trailers released recently – like Exorcism At 60,000 Feet, Psycho Goreman and Uncaged, for example – we haven’t seen many spooky paranormal documentaries lately to help keep us up through the long, dark nights. That may be about to change, however, as Zak Bagans’ creepy supernatural doc, Demon House, is now available to stream for free for Amazon Prime members in North America and a few other select territories.
The eerie documentary focuses on a haunted house in Indiana, which made headlines for reportedly being possessed by over 200 demons. As a result of these reports, Bagans – an American paranormal investigator who hosts Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures – stepped in to find out what all the spooky ruckus was about. Long story short, he purchased the aforementioned house. Sight unseen.

Travel Channel will celebrate Ghostober with a miniseries and Halloween special from Ghost Adventures.
Travel Channel's Ghost Adventures plans an eventful October in some famously scary places in their lead-up to Halloween.
James Wan set his horror film The Conjuring at the Old Arnold Estate, a 14-room farmhouse in Harrisville, Rhode Island. In the film and real life, the Perron family lived in the house from January 1971 until 1980. In the mid-1800s, the house was owned by accused witch Bathsheba Sherman, who reputedly sacrificed her own child to the devil. Bathsheba killed herself in 1863 after cursing the property. The house became famous after Ed and Lorraine Warren, the paranormal investigators who worked on the Amityville haunting, dispelled the spirits. In 2015, the current owner, Norma Sutcliffe, is also haunted. He threated to sue Warner Bros. because strangers showed up at his place to steal things because of the movie.

It’s confusing in a way to think that Zak Bagans, a supposed leading researcher on demonology, would go into a place labeled ‘Demon House’ without any kind of protection and hope to live on the wild side. This documentary was conducted to show how the house is in fact haunted and does contain the kind of energies that have made people go absolutely crazy and seem possessed. Zak Bagans, who is best known as the lead paranormal investigator in Ghost Adventures has a new documentary coming out this weekend called Demon House. The house was located in Gary, Indiana and it's known as "the house of 200 demons". I say was because Bagans had the house torn down after the doc was filmed because apparently, it was so evil.
There is a long history of this house and the former residents have reported all kinds of insane supernatural experiences. Those experiences include physical contact, possessions, and levitation. We have a clip for you to watch today for the film that centers on a police officer telling one of his stories.
One of the things I enjoy about Ghost Adventures is how things get overexaggerated to the point that it's funny. This clip is that kind of scene, especially when it gets to the end.

Premiering in 2008, Travel Channel’s Ghost Adventures has been a tour of allegedly haunted locations in the Us and abroad for ten seasons and counting. Host Zak Bagans has earned a reputation as the “bad boy” of paranormal investigation, the guy who defies and mouths off to spirits on a regular basis. This confrontational attitude has earned him the ire of more than one ghost; during an overnight stay at Bobby Mackey’s Music World in Kentucky – long thought to be a direct portal to Hell – he ended up with some pretty nasty and unexplained scratches on his back. Bagans now takes his particular brand of paranormal investigation to the big screen in Demon House and in many ways, it functions as a full-length...
