The high school used in the PILOT episode is actually Fairvale High School, where Writer/Director Karina Banno went to school, and graduated herself.
Izzy Stevens, Karina Banno and BriAnn Rachele met at a drama class, where it was often mentioned how similar both Karina and Izzy were.
Writer/Director, Karina Banno was originally set to star in the series. However, after being advised by Screenwriter and friend, Deborah Klika, that she should 'take a step back and focus on Directing' the project as Karina already had several acting credits to her name. Karina notes this as a difficult decision, however after having met and worked with Izzy Stevens, she felt confident in handing Frankie over to her and to put on her Directors hat.
Several items in Frankie's room are actually Karina Banno's: personal images on the wall, drama books, the onesie Frankie wears and much of the set design are items that Karina once had when decorating her room while living with her twin sister, Raechelle Banno.
The names announced in the pilot episode in the auditorium are actually names of the crew, 'awarding' them for subjects that could not be more opposite to their personalities. The Producer, however, Maree Seminovas, was given the 'Dux' award, as the crew felt she was most deserving of such an honour.
