Extremely uneventful, but a very good final act

Warning: Spoilers
Most of this episode was utterly unnecessary - there were barely any plot points and nothing was developed. It was as though the writers wanted to save everything for the finale, and subsequently had nothing to put in this episode. It was dull for the most part, although it was good to see Luke Cage again. Trish's subplot was the worst of it all - it subtracted from the main Kilgrave plot line and didn't interest at all.

However the final act was a large improvement - there was some great action, and great character moments from Jessica, Kilgrave and Luke. Albeit the twist that Luke was actually working for Kilgrave the whole time was laughably predictable, ergo that scene held no levity. The very last moment was very interesting, although slightly held back as the audience knows they wouldn't kill him off at this stage. Altogether an offensively dull episode, that was only slightly helped off the ground by a killer ending.

Surprisingly uneventful, aside from a cool ending.

Warning: Spoilers
The end was supposed to be sad and shocking, but we already know that character who they "killed off" is getting their own show down the road, so they're clearly not dead. It was still a cool scene, but Marvel's plans ruined it.

Aside from that, it was a surprisingly uneventful penultimate. I guess they were going for a calm before the storm vibe. It didn't quite work. The scenes were interesting enough, just not weighty. Kilgrave had some cool moments. He works on amplifying his powers. Jessica shows Luke the ropes. A neat twist was involved in that.

In conclusion, it was not a bad episode, just strangely uneventful.

strangely fantastic PLUS a cool ending

From a stunning debut, I thought some of the middle episodes of the season meandered a bit. This was not one of them.

Ever since the Taming of the Shrew, the notion of love and hate being different sides of the very same coin has been a favorite of writers.

In my view, prior to this episode, the iconic Mr and Mrs Smith (with Jolie and Pitt, both in their prime) was the definitive trope on couples who love to hate.

This episode surpasses that. You have drama, good dialog, a merry chase, turnabout, reverse, and a climax that literally takes the house down.

Ritter gets better and better in this role. I was not familiar with her work before but she seems the definitive Jessica Jones and deserves a nomination for selling a difficult part.

Great TV. Perfect in fact.

Those that criticize this show because only a third of it involves action would be bored to death if they punched each other for 55 minutes straight.Granted, thirteen episodes is a lot of show and it's hard to sustain action against a single bad guy. Still, I'm excited to get the final episode and I'm hoping like heck that the same plot doesn't carry into season 2.

Inept Villian

Warning: Spoilers
Does anybody wonder why Killgrave can't just assassinate Jessica by mind-controlling a swat team or a military unit armed with guns when she walks into the nightclub? Or have them show up at her house? Instead, he sets up these completely absurd scenarios like a Scooby Doo villain, and then runs off through his escape hatch when things get hairy.

I mean he can literally just create a mindless army of killers, or influence himself into high political positions, or take over corporations, or any number of things using his ridiculous power.

This whole season, we're dragged through this horrible Twilight melodrama about unhealthy affection and shallow characters. Where is the vision, the adversity, and the depth in this show? With the 8.0 rating, I expected better.

Yawn-worthy

Warning: Spoilers
Another collection of boring sub-plots featuring uninteresting character work. It's a real yawn-worthy episode and as if the writers realise this they bring back the Luke Cage character for some unnecessary action in a bit to liven things a bit.
