Classic Not Going out
Sleepin_Dragon25 March 2018
This episode shows how you combine two successful shows, Not Going out focuses on the popularity of Pointless to deliver one of the show's funniest episodes. Two characters you wouldn't expect to find on a general knowledge show together are Lee and Daisy, and of course the pair don't quite come up to scratch, that is until Lee decides to cheat. Both Alexander and Richard as awesome, such wonderful performers the pair truly deliver the goods. Some seriously funny moments, including the post win brawl and the scene in Richard's dressing room, but it is genuinely funny all the way through. A classic.

Pointless Is Priceless.

Honestly, just when you think the show cannot get any better! I don't want to give away any spoilers but let's say, "Dyson Hoover." and "Let's go with that." were just two lines that had me in hysterics. The whole episode from start to finish is sheer genius and a wonderful combination and integration of the show, Pointless, into Not Going Out. We know how brilliant Lee, Sally & Katy are but what is very pleasantly surprising is just how incredible Richard and Alexander are with their acting. I have seen Alexander in Doctor Who and know he can act but the comedic timing and cutting wit is simply side-splitting. His look to the camera after the "Morphy Richards" response is fantastic and his pithy responses to Braveheart and Jaws 3 are something else. Richard hasn't acted anywhere else as far as I know and, okay, he is playing himself but the delivery of his lines is just so so good. This would be the perfect way in for someone who hasn't seen Not Going Out before (is there anyone left in Britain who hasn't?) as they will surely be familiar with the Pointless format. I love both shows and this deserves all the plaudits it gets. A work of genius and I really appreciate the Pointless team allowing themselves to be incorporated into this unique, quintessentially British show. A definite 10/10.
