Considering what he did, it is very interesting that I haven't noticed a biography about Neil Armstrong before seeing this episode of "Nova". Some of this might be because Armstrong avoided the spotlight and some might be because the space race has long been over...sort of a case of out of sight, out of mind.
The film covers Armstrong's entire life, not just the moon landing. It features interviews with friends, family and a few experts and they all paint a portrait of a very hardworking man who seemed to excel at everything. Yet, following the moon landing, he pulled away from interviews and limited his exposure to the public...most likely because there was a part of him that enjoyed his privacy.
Overall, this is well made and worth seeing.
