Not to be missed!

Paresh Mokashi, the director of the wonderful movie Harishchandrachi Factory has come back with a bang! He leaves no chance to complain, and leaves us with a big grin as we exit the theatre. Elizabeth Ekadashi simply leaves you awed.

Its a simple story of children trying to protect their 'Elizabeth' in times when family is in financial troubles. Mom is a widow, and she runs the house on a handloom, which the bank takes away and they now have to pay back a sum of five thousand rupees. How will she manage it, especially when the children are so clinging on to dear Elizabeth?

Though the story is centered on the financial crisis of a poor family , there is absolutely no unnecessary melodrama here. Aai fights her way relentlessly with no breakdowns, yet makes us feel her pain. The film is all about the kids, Nyana, his cute little sister, ganya and other friends. They all have put up fantastic performances. The tone of the film changes towards the end, it turns cute to ugly.

The story incorporates several themes, which though irrelevant to the main plot, make the film more relatable - like Prostitution, Anti-Superstition Bill. The vibrant streets of Pandharpur are a visual delight.

In conclusion, this has to be one of the finest marathi film of this year. Definitely not to be missed!

Splendid Film

The very First Thing about "Elizabeth Ekadashi" is that it doesn't make the viewers feel that its a reel movie. It is so subtle, that I could almost imagine the predicament faced by the kid and his mom.

The whole movie is about not letting their 'elizabeth' go away. Dhnyanesh and Zendu and their other friends love the cycle "Elizabeth" so much that they collaboratively try to save it till the end. A few takeaways from the film: Just for couple of grands, the Kids thrive themselves in... for the sake of love, affection, humanity! Superb Performance by the kids, the music too is really good! The characters have been impressive! I want to watch the film again!

One of the finest movies I have seen. Amazing work by Director. Because simple story is been transformed into a creative masterpiece. Movie will make you smile, it make you emotional and definitely touch your hearts. Superb performances by kids. Cute song 'Dagad Dagad'. Fabulous piece of Art. I think, this is the thing which differentiates Marathi Cinema from other commercial Movies. They A person who has been to 'Pandharpur' (A Holy place in Maharashtra) or a person who has seen the Maharashtra closely can relate much more with the film. For him it will be a real treat. Heartiest congratulation to the entire team. God bless you.

Fun-filled and Touching

This is a Marathi film with the children playing the key roles stealing the show.

The actress playing the mother has also done an awesome job and made a name for herself in recent years with memorably playing the role of the first wife of Dr Kashinath Ghanekar.

Back to this film though - it is about the desperate attempt by two street -smart children trying to save the last memory of their father - a bicycle he used to ride.

Times are tough and the children try various ways to help their mother pay off their debts, and not end up having to sell of their dear cycle.

The siblings are helped by their friends - a bumbling lot - ending in a lot of humorous situations.

How the children overcome all odds to come out victorious wins the heart of the elders in the film - and needless to say - those of the viewers also!

A must-watch!!
