Ariadne travels with her princely fiance and full entourage, including Jason and his friends, to Aegina to seek Telemon's royal father's approval of the engagement. In league with Pasiphae, Telemon betrays Ariadne but spares her life during an ambush by the Colcheans and pays the ultimate price as Pasiphae fatally stabs him in person. On the run from the Colcheans, Jason, Pythagoras, Hercules, Ariadne, and a fatally wounded general Dion meet and join a group of travelers along the way, including an old couple, blind prophet Orpheus and his true love Eurydice. They end up sheltering in a vast necropolis in a cave system, too scary for the Colcheans to enter even as Pasiphae threatens them with execution. Ariadne shoots Pasiphae with an arrow and Pasiphae, Medea, and Jason fall into a chasm.
