Very strong episode increasing the moral dilemma
snoozejonc10 February 2021
Phillip starts to groom a young girl to potentially gather intelligence on the CIA.

I enjoyed this episode for the ethical dilemma it creates and the general character development.

The plot focuses heavily on Phillip and his latest 'mark' and this overlaps cleverly with some domestic scenes with Elizabeth and the children. We also see Stan in a bad place emotionally and his suspicions regarding the defector get quite intriguing.

There are some strong scenes with the Jennings' family, particularly the ever growing tension between Phillip and Elizabeth and how the situation with Kimmie escalates it. One scene where they discuss something indirectly about Paige and then we hear her voice from another room is genius. Also simple things like a creepy advert on TV, a Yazoo album and a birthday dinner make for memorable cinematic moments.

The editing is superb with Stan's scenes running back to back with Nina's scenes for greater impact.

All performances as always are strong with Matthew Rhys, Kerri Russell and Noah Emmerich all particularly good.

For me it is an 8.5/10 but I like to round upwards.
