This video is special. Del Rey is amazing as always and of course, beautiful as always. It's a very Del Rey video and another landmark video for Del Rey. She confidently expresses herself and I can always appreciate that. Shades of Cool, the album's title song, is extraordinary. I think the video shows Del Rey as very youthful and her feelings towards men, specifically her taste for an older man. Shades of Cool is a 60s-esque, noir-ish, dreamy, romantic, genuine, and wonderful album. The visuals of Del Rey singing in the video are done very well and really work perfectly for Del Rey. She continues to be an icon of her own.

Warning: Spoilers
This is "Shades of Cool" from 2 years ago, a music video for the song with the same name by artist Lana Del Rey. And while I have been pretty harsh on some of her other music videos, I will admit that this one here is fairly creative. There are even one or two moments of beauty in here during these slightly under 6 minutes. At this runtime, it definitely one of her longest works so far. Unfortunately, the music does very little for me at all once again and I guess it's time to conclude that I will never be a fan of Del Rey's singing. This is of course entirely subjective in my very case. She may hit the notes, but the "colour" of her voice just won't appeal to me. What is more objective is my perception that the lyrics in here are really weak again. Overall, a decent watch, but not a good listen. Not recommended.
