Two weeks of filming were shot on the Gold Coast and Brisbane, Australia and one week in Tokyo, Japan.
Originally the script was written as a romantic comedy about a puzzle tester. However after director Mathew J. Wilkinson and producer Scott Whitecross were unable to decide on a conclusion they rewrote the story as a thriller.
Director Mathew J. Wilkinson quit his day job in order to make the film. He admits it may have been a huge mistake, but wanted to tackle an 'international thriller' with no budget.
Every main character in film drinks alcohol at some point on screen. Thomas drinks scotch and champagne. Miho drinks champagne. Jack drinks beer. Eugene and Sudo San both drink scotch. Marion, surprisingly is seen drinking all the beverages at some point, scotch, beer and champagne.
The puzzle can be solved as revealed in the end credits. However the method has been forgotten. Director Mathew J. Wilkinson stated that the white squares were a reduction to the value next to each color on it's left. However he can not recall what value each colors was given that would equal each horizontal line.
