- Luke tries to impress his girlfriend by taking up an A-level. Unfortunately, neither the subject nor the teacher turn out to be quite what Luke is expecting.
- It's the start of the academic programme at Sunnybank View Young Offender Institution, and Luke and Jason must decide what course to take. After a tip-off from prison wheeler-dealer Black Elton John, the boys opt for Creg's painfully-dull-sounding Life Skills Class. The class turns out to be the world's biggest skive - ideal for Luke, who just wants an easy life. However, when his girlfriend Gemma reveals that she's proud of new friend Roger taking a GCSE, a jealous Luke announces to her that he's taking an A-Level in a much more difficult subject. Gemma is very impressed by Luke's get-up-and-go attitude - now all Luke has to do is convince Prison Officer Dawn to let him switch courses. Jason is preoccupied building an armed sex-robot to kill Roger, plus it's Tattoo Tuesday and Black Elton John has a 2-for-1 deal on. But when Jason gets wind of Luke's plan, he can't help but get involved and events rapidly spiral out of Luke's control. Meanwhile, Marcel has been forcing Luke to read him the Twilight Saga every night. Luke convinces Marcel he's finished the book by ripping a load of pages out the back - has he finally put an end to these reading-and-beating sessions?
- Luke and Jason decide to take up one of Creg's life skill classes though, with its syllabus of Argos catalogue appliances, it is hardly stimulating and when Gemma tells Luke that his love rival Roger is taking GCSEs he decides to go for an A level. Unfortunately only Latin is on offer, taught by Mr Dunlop and his so-called classes are a front for drinking and paint-balling sessions, as Jason tells everybody. Soon they are all deserting Creg for Mr Dunlop but Luke is desperate for a real Latin class and this sadly leads to Mr Dunlop's accidental death and a return to Creg. To make things worse he hears that Roger has moved in with Gemma whilst Marcel is forcing him to read the 'Twilight' books.—don @ minifie-1
