Jaws Finatics (2015)
** 1/2 (out of 4)
THis documentary is certainly well intention as it was made by a JAWS fan who interviews other JAWS fans about their love of the series. Right from the start we get to hear about how this documentary came to be made and several fans from Facebook basically sent in interviews as they shared their thoughts on everything about the series.
The version I watched clocked in at 130-minutes and I must admit that it was a bit too long. THe film is basically a collection of thoughts from a variety of fans. They discuss how they first heard of the movie, their first time watching it, the various stuff that they collect and their thoughts on the sequels. We also get to hear about how the film changed their lives and they also get into some of the rip-offs that followed like ORCA, GRIZZLY and of course SHARKNADO.
Again, it's clear that the intention was for fans to show their love for the series and that part is good. I'd argue that the film goes on way too long and there's no real sense of direction as the interviews don't really flow that well and the story nature of the film just isn't there. We do get to hear some great stories and there are some great collectible items that we get to see, which is cool. If you're an actual JAWS "finatic" then you should get some entertainment out of this.
