This is a documentary about a lesser known serial killer from the British Isles. In the space of sixteen weeks, homosexual sadist Peter Moore murdered four men, stabbing them to death violently. A native of North Wales, Mummy's boy Moore became known as the Man In Black - not a reference to a sci-fi cult film but to his manner of dress, including black shirt.
Although outwardly a bit odd, he was held in some esteem; a cinema manager, he had saved a number of cinemas from closure, and was a regular correspondent of at least one journalist.
With three apparently motiveless murders in quick succession and in a reasonably small area, it was not long before the police took an interest in him; an anonymous tip off helped. When he was arrested he sang like a canary, not out of fear, but out of pride; he had already revealed certain details to other people. He even confessed to the fourth murder, of which the police were unaware. Moore had also attacked many other men, some of whom might be considered lucky to have escaped with their lives. He received the mandatory life sentence, and will never be released.
This programme includes contributions from people who knew Moore, as well as the resident psychobabblers.
