Warning: Spoilers
Alright! Episode 3 Begins. Really not impressed with the first 2 but here we go.

Madrid! Roper is attending a birthday party. Damn I cannot stand rich people. But we get some drunken rich people dancing. But then whoa what happened?? Someone hung themself!! Or was found hanging anyway!!! Wait that's not the birthday girl is it??? What a tragedy.

Back at Roper's village in Malorca, Spain, Pine is summoned to see Roper and his son, Danny, who thanks Pine for rescuing him from the kidnappers/ robbers who beat the living hell out of Pine. Roper offers Pine a champagne. Roper asks Pine what he wants from the world. Roper interrogates Pine.

+1 Star for the investigation into Pine.. finally we get some good interaction.....

Oh I like Corky too. He's good. And he doesn't like Pine and I wouldn't either if I was him. Really there's no reason that Roper should be interested in Pine either. That doesn't make sense but it is of course necessary for the story to continue.

So Pine has established himself somewhat as the insider now, especially when it comes To Roper's son Danny. I like the clandestine report Pine delivers to Burr in the guise of shopping for ice cream. That was smart.

+1 Star for finally a smart moment in the story, rather than just dumb things happening

so Burr meets with the girl's father who was found hung, and tries to flip him. She tells him that if Roper hadn't been in his life that his daughter would still be alive. Burr tells him specifically that they need to bring down Corky, Roper's right hand and security guy.

Meanwhile Roper and Pine continue trading stories. And Pine, he's just making all the right friends.

But Roper's woman gets naked in front of him when she goes swimming in the ocean.

+1 Star for finally some decent nudity in this show

So Roper's friend and business partner is screwing around on his wife. Somehow this becomes an issue where Pine is involved. Roper is off on business but Corky has stayed behind. But while Corky and Jed are off riding, Pine breaks into Roper's office setting off a very loud alarm, but apparently no one is around to hear it. Pine takes pictures of documents in Roper's desk.

-1 Big Star for that lack of security, I just don't believe they'd allow Pine that much space. Doesn't make sense.

Those pictures tho, are sent back to Burr. They have documents of a 10 million $ arms deal now.

So next up, Roper gifts a New Zealand Password for Pine. Now he's Andrew Birch. But first, he has to sign some documents and Become owner of a company that Roper is setting him up with. Episode Ends with Andrew Birch, signing the document and officially becoming part of Roper's family. This was really the most interesting episode so far. 7/10

Weak episode

"The Night Manager" arrives to the middle of its run and offers a middle of the road episode, not bad, but not great either. This third episode does little to advance the story, and it is not especially fast-paced.

Of course, that doesn't mean it is bad. It is just not as good as the first two episodes. The acting keeps being really good, and the scenery, direction and cinematography is good too, but the plot suffers from I-need-to-make-this-last syndrome. The hour could have been condensed in maybe half of it and it would have made the show a more engaging one.

The atmosphere is good, and the show teases us with more to come. But the classic feel becomes a little bit stale. Let's see if it improves in the second part of the mini-series.
