- TriviaDirector/producer/cinematographer James Bluemel on his film: "I spent a year filming Romanians in the process of leaving their country to come and live in ours. I was with them as they wrestled with the idea of leaving their homes; I was with them when they said tearful goodbyes to their wives, their children and their elderly parents; I was with them when they arrived in the "new country"; and I was there as they began to look for work and attempted to build some sort of a life here. The decision to leave your family and move to another country cannot be an easy one to make. It's something you would do only if you really needed to.(...)That level of commitment and determination is impressive. British people moan that foreigners are taking British jobs, but I wonder how many Brits would be willing to endure what Adi does in order to support their family. The fundamental right to free movement for EU citizens is important, correct and valuable, but let's not be blasé. Leaving your family and friends behind as you move 2,000 miles across Europe in the hope of finding a job is not a decision that anyone takes lightly. It's a scary and painful thing to do. It rips families apart and it destroys communities. It is not something that should have to happen. For many of the Romanians I met, the phrase "freedom to move" is contradictory, as where is the freedom in having no choice but to leave your country to search for work? It's important and correct that we have that right to free movement, but let's not confuse the life of a migrant worker with freedom."[Feb. 17th 2015, New Statesman]

Look at the beam from your eyes before you see the speck in the eyes of the others!
All this " documentary" is made with derogatory language about ROMANIANS versus gypsies, nomadic population came to Europe from India in the Middle Ages and found in all European countries. This awful "documentary" make a deliberate confusion between ROMANIANS and gypsies. In another EU countries(ROMANIA is EU member since 2007) most of Romanians who works there have highly intellectual qualified :doctors(we have a niece who is head of department, neurology specialist at a hospital in Leipzig!!!),architects, engineers, IT developers etc. but also skilled workers...we have now a new president , elected from the German minority of ROMANIA, Mr.Johannis. ROMANIA is the seventh EU country as population, as well as one of the leading NATO members in Europe. We ROMANIANS have built and Holocaust Memorial in Bucharest!!!!!, for Jews and gypsies!!!!WHERE IS DISCRIMINATION against Jews and gypsies in ROMANIA????in ROMANIA are 619000 gypsies(official census2011)-that is 3% from TOTAL POPULATION of ROMANIA.There are European countries where the number of gypsies is much higher compared to the total population:Spain, Bulgaria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia, etc.gypsies are nomadic population came to Europe from India during the Middle Ages!!!As well party of the Hungarian minority(5% official census 2011 from total population) it was in various Romanian governments from 1996 till now.If you want to be respected, you need to respect others.Look at the beam from your eyes before you see the speck in the eyes of the others! I am already sick when I saw that hypocrisy,ROMANIA is a model in EU for how WE treat minorities , gypsies including -Barroso ,the former President of the European Commission said again and again .Because "a lie repeated obsessively will be for fools the TRUTH , ultimately". Did you know in the name of "positive discrimination" and not to "disturb" packs of gypsies and especially of their "sensitivity", that are offered them places in colleges and universities with NO CONTEST???? We ROMANIANS are discriminated, in no event minorities, including of course as well as the gypsies.Enough with the double standard.I just remember 1st of January 2007, our entry in EU.Ten(10) Ridiculous journalists from UK-sorry,just from England!-expected waves of Romanian immigrants at BUCHAREST Henri Coanda International Airport.SURPRISE!!!three (3)Romanians went in UK on 1 January, and until January 10 another 20 Romanians. I have seen your behavior on vacation, at some hotels in continental Greece and Greek islands, Italy, Spain, Turkey.Apart from poor education and excessive alcohol consumption, do you have something else to offer in Europe?
