This film was shot entirely in Xieng Khouang, Laos- the biggest production in the province. The cast and crew were from all over the world - The U.S., Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, France, and Laos.
The funding for this movie came from different sources: Lao Filmmakers Fund, the Fulbright, and Indigogo (through contributions from individuals around the world) as well as supports from VS Service (Thailand), Lao New Wave Cinema (Laos), and Patoo Industries (Laos).

During the last half of production, police officials attempted to forcefully shut down production on multiple occasions despite the required permits and visa's displayed by production. The attempt at shutting down production was due to governments concern with the films possible subject matter. The resilient crew persevered and ended up completing the film.
