- Parchhaiyan, within the shadows of violence and lies is where many women in India live today.
- Tara, a beautiful young woman married into an extremely wealthy, upper class, traditional and conservative South Mumbai family. She finds her dreams of a happy marriage dashed by her abusive, alcoholic and cheating husband, Ajay. His extremely well respected political family manages every detail of Tara and her sisters-in-laws, Ayesha and Nalini lives. Broken by years of physical and sexual abuse Tara along with the help of her sister-in-law Ayesha decides to leave - she can't take the pressure any longer. Furious about Tara's disrespect to the family honor, Ajay and his brothers begin to portray her as crazy and unhinged, alienating her from her friends and family. They even go as far to take her son away from her. Desperate to save herself she reaches out to Chitra a journalist for help. Chitra, is in the midst of writing an investigative story about the controversial family and Tara represents the type of lead she's been digging for, but before she has the chance to tell Tara's story something goes terribly wrong.—The Jeff Goldberg Studio
