So, a successful lawyer refuses to date a fellow lawyer but accepts to be in a relationship with a handyman because he has a good body but she doesn't mind that he embarrassed her in the restaurant nor being married with kids. This is a messed up movie. I really regret watching it. I don't recommend women to watch this because it will give you the idea that education and being self independent women doesn't count. Being with a man is the key for happiness!!!!! Wrong message for young girls out there.

I'm late in catching this movie...(it's 2021)...Married man with 2 children. She buys him everything.

He lied and she did not ask.

What a dumbass woman to be a professional.

I am so disgusted and disappointed in this movie. Ugh!

Holy Molly, where do I start? Plot is boring, full of clichés...then all of it...all of it is just male gazing, if as a woman you want successful career, for sure you can't cook, have a good personality, think about anything than money or just have values. Ridiculous and long, what a waste of time.

I really wanted to believe in this movie as in a subtle message of love with no boundaries, but the ending completely ruined this. SPOILER ALERT

So the guy has a wife and children back in Haiti whom he brings his mistress/illegal bigamy wife to meet, they have a jolly old time in Haiti, until his mistress decides hold up this isn't going to work but thank you as you taught me how to love.... okay so now she'll go back to her mansion in th USA knowing she can not divorce him for 2 years otherwise he'll get deported. Something she'll have to explain to any potential partners in the interim....

What was this? And why do strong Women in Movies partnered with low income men, like The Propsal, Something News, Act like a Man,??. Let me just inform YOU DO NOT NEED A MAN TO BE HAPPY. BACK to this movie, o need to watch it its basically a lawyer good at her work then she sleeps with her worker but she can't have him and now she is sad. What Nonsense.

Awful movie. All throughout it was horrible. This is an insult to women, black women and black men. Refuse a plausible fellow lawyer, waste time with your personal trainer and a Gardner , depict black women as angry man hungry sex hungry insulting and insulted. Show the characters growth by having her accept her love for a man who lies cheats and is married with children. Present this as normal. Yukkkkkk.

From the people who brought us the equally as terrible movie, Phat girlz this movie is basically a movie to glorify toxic dysfunctional relationships.

Female Lawyer is a "pick me". Who likes to pretend that she's a strong, firm, independent woman who doesn't need a man, who won't lower her standards or expectations, and who will never accept any crap from a man....

But does the opposite all throughout the movie.

She doesn't have high self esteem, confidence, very insecure, very desperate, and she's a prude with superiority complexes mixed with the inferior ones. She thinks alot of people are beneath her, and doesn't give them a deserving chance. She just closes off and runs away.

So she's a successful lawyer who's sponsoring her casual flings with the gift of cash and expensive gifts. She cuts one of her men off, and finds a new causal fling partner like right after she got rid of the first..like same day within about an hour, she found comfort in the arms of her handyman...like right away after she gets drunk in front of this stranger on the first day meeting him..she sleeps with him and doesn't stop.

Along the way she is embarrassed by him because he doesn't measure up to her standards. She feel like he and his life are beneath her So she makes him her personal charity case and personal project in hopes of making him into what she wants him to be so that she can show him off to people. The people with money and status that matter to her.

So she begins to emasculate and humiliate him by insulting him constantly. She basically tells him that his life has no meaning and purpose because he lives with other grown men, doesn't have a place of his own, doesn't have any accolades or status behind his name because she doesn't consider being a handyman as a career choice he should have.

She is verbally abusive towards him throughout the movie, and buys more expensive stuff or does things for him as sorry gifts to him.

She basically calls him a nobody for alot of the movie.

She begins to nagg him about his place so much that he accepts her offer to move into her guess house that she usually rents free of charge.

He abandons his integrity, his values, moral compass, and ethics really quickly. He goes from declining gifts and explaining to her that this challenges his personally defined masculinity, that he basically feels less than a man,has to make his own way, to not much putting up a fight. She merely tells him she wants to and he's like okay, every single time.

They use, humiliate, embarrass, and manipulate each other some more.

He calls her out on her terrible ways and insecurities often, Which as a rebuttal, She often victimizes herself, and often runs and cries in her room knowing he'll come to her every single time. To deliver the sympathy, coddling, and good loving.

She becomes very clingy, and attached to him rather quickly often getting upset when he wants to spend time doing things besides spending time with her.

He can smell, sense, taste the desperation and needyness that she exudes, and uses that to his advantage to manipulate and use her some more. He knows that in order for him to get a green card out of her, he must up the antics and get her to fully serve and submit to him.

It works. Even though he had lied to her, cheated on her, and used her she apparently doesn't care and it's water under the bridge.

She doesn't care she just wants him. She doesn't want to be lonely and single. Which she is technically single throughout the entire movie because she assumes that they're dating and committed.

A few sob stories, and basically telling her that he can love as many as he wants and does as he pleases, she swoons still and decides to marry him.

I turned it off after that.

Couldn't watch anymore. Horrifically terrible.

For a lawyer who's supposed to be successful and intelligent, she gives out terrible advice, and doesn't think clearly.

So she married him, meets his wife in Haiti.

Goes back to being alone obligated and tied to him financially for at least 2 years.

She doesn't take into account that the job she worked hard and cherish can be deeply effected from her shenanigans.

Except for Camille, all the rest of the actors are terrible and sound robotic . Especially the main woman.

Writing was terrible. Movie made no sense alot.

Script is terrible. It was fast pace. Characters underdeveloped

Too many cliches and nudges /reminders to viewers through certain scenes that the main man was in Phat girlz. That this was from the people who made that terrible movie.

Also, I think that him saying that she never asked if he was married was to show us how the lines get often blurred and misinterpreted. They've never had any talk of exclusivity and of commitment, so in his mind they were having a casual affair and his personal and private life he didn't feel the need to disclose. They were having a fling, she never asked. She gets mad because she's been convincing herself that they're dating. Just like in the party.

She's a control freak who is very hypocritical and condescending all throughout the movie.

Also to have passed all formal training in order to have become a "good" lawyer as the film tries to imply that she is.. She's pretty dense. A lawyer inviting a stranger to live in a property of yours without knowing anything about them and not automatically doing a background check is unrealistic. She never did the whole entire film. Then she'd project her anger about not knowing anything on him. The entire film she blames him for her unethical approach with the situation with him.

She also isn't a good listener or open minded person.
