When I sat down to watch the 2015 Chinese romantic comedy "You zhong ni ai wo" (aka "One Night Stud"), I must admit that I was expecting to be entertained and I was expecting to be in for something funny, given the movie's concept and synopsis.
But writers Alex Jia, Xinman Li and Yi Yao Zhang just didn't manage to collectively put together something that fell into my particular liking. And I must admit that "One Night Stud" was a swing and a miss.
The movie was nearly fully devoid of funny situations and moments, and director Xinman Li didn't manage to make me laugh with this movie. And I have to say that the movie felt awkwardly forced and staged. And that left "One Night Stud" to feel like a dud.
They definitely had some talented enough actors and actresses on the cast list, just a shame that they were given next to nothing to work with in terms of script, characters and dialogue.
I am rating "One Night Stud" a mere two out of ten stars. This movie was just a waste of time.
