This is my town
nogodnomasters12 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The film opens with some horrible first person narration to build a story. Queen Pin (Rhanni) becomes the mistress of a drug dealer. When he gets busted, she goes to jail for being a bad actress, a crime in Jacksonville. Once out she wants to build her "own organization" so she can start her own record label, although I couldn't figure out why she needed her own record label. She spends her disposable income on clinging clothes that make her look chunky.

As a new drug dealer in town, she steps on the toes of the existing one. The writing was cliche and the dialogue was terrible. The actors couldn't deliver their lines with any kind of realism. One of the guys had the nickname "Killer." The only thing Gin X accomplished was to make 50 Cent look like a genius, and I didn't think that was possible.

F-bombs, n-words, sex, no nudity.

Pure rubbish! That is it, that is all! Disasterious writing, untalented actors, laughable scenes...they try to use some girls to lure people to watch this movie..it doesn't work.. Long story short, try other movies!

Typical Blackplotation movie

You would think that these writers could come up with something other than the usual drug dealer. Pimp or no talent rapper movie. Like these are the only options African American see as a path to financial security. We should be allowed to give this a negative rating as it only show African Americans in a negative light. Couple that with bad acting and a dialog that could have been for a grade school play, leaves me with a horrible taste after subjecting myself to such drivel. My advice is to find another movie to watch and not to waste you time on this unless you are here for the eye candy. Hopefully they have learned something form this fiasco and won't do a repeat.

I appreciate the EFFORT here...

This SUPER LOW BUDGET film had potential, despite the typical "hood" crime drama we have seen before. I could see what the director and writer was trying to accomplish, but if fell short. The problem was the audio, the acting and the script/dialogue(which may have been improvised)...if the ACTING was good the dialogue and audio could slightly be overlooked-slightly. Still there's something cool about putting the effort to making a movie like this...no budget but what you have, using all your friends to make the dream happen despite the result. I was amused by the bad acting and curious to see how it would end despite how low budget it was. If you watch this take it for what it is..for some it may be so bad that it becomes good.

Ughn, it was pretty stereotypical...

Needless to say that I had never heard about this 2010 crime movie titled "Queen Pin" from wroter and director Gin X, prior to stumbling upon the movie by random chance here in 2023. Given the movie's cover and the whole premise of it, I must admit that I wasn't really harboring much of any expectations. Yet, I still opted to watch the movie, given the fact that it was a movie that I had never heard about.

Naturally I wasn't familiar with a single actress or actor on the cast list in this movie. And it wasn't as if there were any famous people to be seen anywhere. But with names of actors and actresses such as Dirt Diggla, Mob Boss, Yella Boi, Tony 904, Dread, Big E, G Hustle, Lil Jack, Nard, Shout Out, Scooby, and so forth, I can't really claim to think that I was in for a movie with stellar acting performances.

The dialogue in the movie, as written by Gin X, was pretty simplistic. However, the delivery of the dialogue was somewhat wobbly and forced at times. Some of the actors and actresses weren't really capable of delivering believable dialogue while they were in front of the camera. Especially when almost every single sentence from a certain actor contained the phrasing "feel me", then it grew very tiring and annoying, very fast.

"Queen Pin" was a rather generic and stereotypical movie. And I certainly wasn't the target audience for a movie of this type.

My rating of "Queen Pin" lands on a two out of ten stars.

Love this movie

Yes it's low budget, yes it's hood, yes the actors are mediocre at best but damn is this movie good. It's real and relatable if you come from or live that life. RIP Jokisha aka Rhanni.
