- Olivia Benson: Hey, so I heard you caught a rape case where the victim got burned up.
- Hank Voight: Yeah, that's right, a nurse from Chicago Med. Raped, beaten. And the perp torched the joint on his way out. Where'd you hear?
- Olivia Benson: Uh, an alert from the National Sex Offender Registry. NCIC created a geofence for rapes with an arson component on the East Coast and the Midwest. What do you know about this guy?
- Hank Voight: Very little. Witness who can ID him said he saw somebody behind the victim's house two hours before the bonfire.
- Olivia Benson: Let me ask you this: Was he dressed as a doctor?
- Hank Voight: Yeah, that's right, and he has his arm in a sling.
- Olivia Benson: Son of a bitch, Hank.
- Hank Voight: What is it?
- Olivia Benson: There's just too many similarities to a case that I worked ten years back. The victim-- she still alive?
- Hank Voight: Barely.
- Olivia Benson: I'm on the next plane to Chicago.
- [first lines]
- Jessica Chilton: Yeah, so Jessica Chilton, that's me, obviously. Anyways, everyone calls me Chilli, 'cause I hate the name Jessica. It's better than my sister, I guess, 'cause we call her Jelly Bean. I've heard really great things about you guys, the whole family vibe and all that. I've been to a lot of places where it's not really like that. So... yeah. Here I am.
- Wallace Boden: Thank you, Chilli. Chilli is gonna be our new paramedic-in-charge on Ambulance 61. Everybody please make her feel welcome.
- [mild applause]
- Randall McHolland: [unenthusiastically] Welcome.
- Wallace Boden: Chilli, Connie in the bullpen, she handles all the paperwork. Please check in with her.
- Jessica Chilton: Okay, cool. Thanks for taking me on, Chief.
- Wallace Boden: We're lucky to have you. Okay, everybody, listen up. Here at 51, we are together 24 hours of the day, and we are indeed a family, and we have been very fortunate not to have much turnover. So I'm gonna say this with the utmost respect. Get over it.
- Brian Zvonecek: Mills was here for three years, Chief. You can't expect us to just flip a switch and get over it.
- Wallace Boden: And I've been here for 22 years, Otis. Now, my orders are, welcome in the new PIC. Any one of you, you have a problem with that, you come in my office. If you have a legitimate reason, we will discuss it. Other than that, you stop looking like somebody just PISSED IN YOUR COFFEE!
- Matthew Casey: You're right, Chief. It's taken care of.
- Kelly Severide: We got it, Chief. Our bad.
- [alarm blares]
- Emergency dispatch: Truck 81, Squad 3, Ambulance 61, structure fire, Wabash and Silverhill.
- [last lines]
- Hank Voight: Olivia.
- Olivia Benson: Hank.
- Hank Voight: Hey. This is Chief Boden.
- Olivia Benson: Oh, thank you for taking the time.
- Wallace Boden: Of course. So it's official. OFI ruled it an arson.
- Olivia Benson: Okay, the victim?
- Hank Voight: She's still hanging on at Chicago Med. They're gonna let us know if she can talk.
- Olivia Benson: Do we know how she was subdued?
- Hank Voight: Had a skull fracture to the back of the head.
- Olivia Benson: All right, this is gonna sound odd, but was she wearing green nail polish on her fingers?
- Wallace Boden: None that would be visible. We know from the finger-line on her forehead, she was covering her face during the blaze, so her hands bore the burnt of it.
- Olivia Benson: Okay.
- Hank Voight: It's gonna take additional testing.
- Olivia Benson: Okay, so confirmed: the victim is a nurse, 5'5", brown hair, brown eyes, and she was raped.
- Hank Voight: That's right.
- [Benson looks at the victim's picture and thinks back to a case she worked on ten years ago]
- Wallace Boden: So the animal who did this... you think he did it before?
- Olivia Benson: Unfortunately... I know he has.
