The SPFX Of an Inferno
Innovating Tower: The SPFX of an Inferno (2006)
*** (out of 4)
Cinematographer Fred J. Koenekamp and actress Susan Flannery are on hand for this eight-minute featurette about the special effects of THE TOWERING INFERNO. If you've seen the film in question then you already know that 8-minutes isn't going to cover all the incredible work in the film. What interviews are here are certainly entertaining but when you consider how much great work was in the picture you can't help but be somewhat disappointed. Flannery talks about her scene in the movie with Robert Wagner and how she got ready to be frightened by an explosion. There's also talk about the two models of the building that were made and how tall they actually were. Fans of the film will want to check this out but there's no question that more details were certainly needed.
