Madrid, Spain: Alfonso, Prince of the Asturias, and heir apparent to the throne of Spain, and his little brother, Prince Jaime, enjoy an afternoon with the birds and animals at the Zoo. Nearby their grandmother, the Dowager Queen of Spain, smiles her approval. Washington, D.C: Miss Olive May Wilson, the "Santa Claus" girl, asks Congress to allow Christmas gifts to the poor children to go through the mails without postage. She meets a friend on the Capitol steps. Weed, Cal: The Shasta Limited, Southern Pacific flyer, is snowbound fourteen hours in the mountains as a furious storm rages.
