From British writer and actress, Sarah Horgan is this dramedy starring Sarah Jessica Parker as Frances. She plays a mom with two teenage kids in snowy suburbia.
Her husband Robert (Thomas Haden Church) is a hard working contractor. At her friend's Diane's 50th birthday party things come to a head when Diane's bitchiness exposes her own marriage problems where she nearly shoots her husband, Frances decides to use this inopportune moment to tell Robert that she wants a divorce.
What Robert does not know is that she is having an affair with a scuzzy college teacher called Julian although her husband soon finds out the truth.
There was not much comedy here and you can guess this is a series where two people are going to be pulled apart and the consequences of their mistakes. It is hard to root for Frances, in the pilot episode she is selfish, cheating on her husband and is willing to leave him for Julian. She goes back to her husband when she realises that all she is to Julian is a fling.
The biggest problem is the mismatch of acting talent. I am sorry to say despite her years in the acting industry, Sarah Jessica Parker is out acted by Haden Church and boy he knows it.
