The girl (Samm) who was portrayed in this episode as "the catfish" later made a video where she revealed and provided proof that she originally emailed the show thinking her male online friend (Steven) may be a catfish. However, the show thought her pictures looked like someone who would catfish someone else, so they flipped the situation, found Steven's information, contacted them about being on the show. And made it look like Steven's mom contacted them. Steven then ended up being incredibly overbearing and asked about "their future" the second they met. Samm had never said anything about wanting to be in a romantic relationship with him and had previously messaged him about just getting out of an abusive relationship, but the show portrayed her as evil and heartless because she responded by saying she just wanted to be friends. I mean... really? This is easily the worst episode I've seen so far.
