I enjoyed this episode and seeing another guy competing for Riley's attention. I thought Charlie was very sweet, he's just the kind of guy I would fall for and his whole lead up to asking out Riley was adorable. However his whole thing is also a little weird and it's creepy how he always seems to be lurking in the background. I also liked that they brought Eric and Jack back together even if it was only for the one episode and that because of the fact that the guys go to Riley's school dance and his experience with the Rachel stuff Jack is able to give Riley advice on how to handle liking two different guys in different ways. There are a few things I would change though. Since Jack's full name is mentioned by Eric it would be nice if the connection to Shawn was brought up but literally no one mentions the fact that Jack is Shawn's brother. I mean Jack doesn't even mention Shawn in passing but he has two conversations about Rachel. You would think at the very least when talking to Cory Shawn would have come up in conversation and technically if Shawn is considered Riley's uncle Jack should be too since they are brothers. It would also have been nice if he'd gotten to meet Maya because she would have reminded him of Shawn in her whole attitude and since at this point she has a solid relationship with Shawn she probably would have brought him up and than Jack's connection would have come out. I don't know why it bothers me so much that both Shawn and Jack have appeared on the show but neither of them have mentioned the other and Shawn has told Maya about Chet and Virna and even Angela but absolutely nothing about Jack and that's weird to me. And in this episode despite knowing how close Shawn and Cory are Jack doesn't once bring up his brother and yet Eric has made multiple appearances and everyone knows who he is and Turner has made one appearance so far and he told the kids how much Shawn means to him. I think I understand however why they left out the connection since this show is about Riley's life and experiences not the random connections to her fathers past. As such this is a great episode.
