Churchill's special weapons lab certainly did some good things, based on the statements in this film. Reliable bomb timers and the PIAT gun were a big deal. The invention and success of other weapons (apparently dozens) is glossed over, which is a shame.
The production is OK but shoestring. The same four explosions are shown about 12 times each. The acting is too often hammy... Bomb doesn't work; man looks concerned. Bomb works; man pumps fist. Rinse and repeat.
A straight documentary - without the mediocre recreations and ham acting - could have done much greater justice to the topic. There's probably a book out there that I should read.
