Japanese Breakfast’s Michelle Zauner and Crying’s Ryan Galloway have teamed up for Pop Songs 2020, a new EP made in quarantine. Released under the name Bumper, the four-track album is out Friday.
The project was born when Zauner asked Galloway to write a guitar part for a song off her upcoming Japanese Breakfast record, the follow-up to 2017’s Soft Sounds from Another Planet due next year. They clicked, and decided to work on their own EP. The duo live three blocks apart in Brooklyn, New York, but haven’t...

Although at heart when I choose and read my comics I am a superhero guy, I do enjoy dipping into indie stuff and non-superhero stuff along the way. Variety is the spice of life after all. Although Superman, Spider-Man, Captain America, Batman and co. have been companions along the way on my comic book journey, so has 2000Ad, Dave Sim’s Cerebus, most of Marvel’s Epic line, Grimjack, Sable and DC’s Vertigo. All of them bring something different to the table, and that’s why I love comics. Something for everyone. I was as disappointed as everyone else when DC disbanded it’s Vertigo line, as in recent times that variety of choice has been withering away. Vertigo had always been a chance for writers and artists to show a different side to their storytelling.

Sony Pictures went about launching their Spider-Man cinematic universe in the worst possible way. After a decent beginning with The Amazing Spider-Man, they plunged into The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which was a mediocre movie weighed down with endless hooks for potential sequels.
So, we got a tease of Peter’s parents being involved in some shady government conspiracy, various plotlines going unresolved and the end credits showing us some pretty familiar villain equipment. That last one was intended to be for a standalone Sinister Six movie, which never saw the light of day after the Andrew Garfield Spider-Man pics failed to live up to Sony’s expectations.
But with the studio now developing a series of films based on Spidey villains like Venom and Morbius: The Living Vampire, could we see this project come back from the dead? Writer Drew Goddard certainly thinks so, saying the following in a recent...

Publisher Raw Fury took to Gamescom 2018 on Tuesday to show off the ethereal upcoming title “Sable,” which has been dated for late 2019.
The indie exploration game will feature a wide variety of ways to interact with the environment, including hover bikes, ancient ruins dotting the landscape, and a soothing soundtrack from the artist Japanese Breakfast to tie it all together.
“Sable,” which originally made its debut during E3 2018’s PC Gaming Show, is a tastefully muted and gorgeously animated adventure game inspired by artists like Moebius (“The Incal”). Players take on the role of a young wanderer, the titular Sable, who’s tasked with exploring a large desert planet.
Labeled as a “coming of age” tale, the game will find Sable encountering several others throughout her journey, though it does seem as though the game will feature other surreal exploration elements as well. It has a wistful, lonely feel that...

Some films are almost better experienced with a little bit of background knowledge. I know that goes against the idea of spoilers, but a little information about the plot or the characters can sometimes be the dash of hot sauce in the ramen noodles. It can set it apart from being collectively associated with a particular type of formulaic comfort genre that might have lost its flavor.
Case in point, when “Grabbers’ came out, knowing that being drunk was the only defense against the creatures, made me elevate it above any other contemporary creature flick that I had access to at the time. Then again, there are films, and in...

Actors Nicole Shipley and Atli Oskar Fjalarsson have been added to the cast of the upcoming thriller film Sable.
Shipley has been in several films (Club Lingerie, Guardians of The Galaxy, Jailbait) and Fjalarsson is an Icelandic actor that was written up in Variety as one of the rising stars from Europe.
When speaking about the actors, Director Michael Matteo Rossi told us "Having known Nicole for a few years now and having worked with her on a past film; I was indeed thrilled to have her come on board. After I cast Nicole, I thought of Atli (who I had met somewhat recently) to play the boyfriend and they had fantastic chemistry together on set and were a joy to work with. The interesting thing about both of them is that they are young stars truly on the rise and really added to the overall quality of the film.

Michael Matteo Rossi’s upcoming thriller feature Sable from InnoVate Productions (in association with Italian Cowboy Productions), has just wrapped principle filming and left us with some very intriguing stills of the movie.

After giving us his first feature film in 2013 with Misogynist, director Michael Matteo Rossi looks to return in 2016 with Sable, a new thriller that just wrapped principal photography. We haven’t heard much about the project just yet, but earlier this week, the first images have arrived, giving us a look at what Rossi has been cooking up over the past little while.
For those unfamiliar with Sable, it stars Ayla Kell (Make it or Break it) in a twisted story of revenge, redemption and one-upmanship. As Rossi said in an earlier statement, the film is, at its core, a cautionary tale:
“Sable at its core is a cautionary tale…it’s a showcase of what occurs when all the characters act on impulse and greed instead of pure logic. It makes for a pretty wild ride.”
