Solid French drama
searchanddestroy-117 September 2016
Actually, this film is a sort of mix up between a social drama and a crime flick. Vincent Rottiers plays here the son of a land owner and also fruit producer in full bankrupt, a son who decides to help his old man after the latest tried to take his own life. In this purpose, Rottiers will gets involved with dangerous drug dealers and traffic. Hard and dangerous choice for our lead. You have in this feature some brutal and unexpected scenes, such as this one when a traitor is killed by a raging bull in his box. You have the feeling to watch here a SICARIO like western movie. It seems Ken Loach - people put in bankrupt because of the bankers, social depressing atmosphere - meets Sam Peckinpah, especially in an editing scheme, where two guys talk whilst we see some men branding a bull. This way of editing was the trade mark of Peckinpah. Vincent Rottiers is awesome here.
