Solid German TV-Crime Movie
blumdeluxe10 August 2017
Warning: Spoilers
"Tatort: Hundstage" is an episode of the famous "Tatort"-series, located in Dortmund and evolving around the death of a man, involved in a mysterious case of a mother whose son got kidnapped, and who thinks she identified him several years after the crime.

In many respects this is a typical German TV crime movie. It doesn't come with many spectacular things, rather it sticks to some proved icons such as a burnt-out inspector, relationships between the investigators and personal infliction into the case. However, it is produced in a very careful and solid way, it includes some plot twists that at least I didn't see coming and it keeps you entertained throughout its playtime, which is pretty much what you can expect from a TV movie.

All in all I was quite happy with this one. Of course you can criticize that some of the aspects of this movie are a bit too familiar and maybe a bit more creativity would have suited the movie well but on the other hand creativity is probably hard to achieve judged by the number of TV crime movies plopping out every single year. If you like the series in general or if you are looking for a good TV crime movie, you most probably will be happy with this one.

Fast Cut Massacre

I like the Tatort Dortmund crime team, but this was terrible. Boring story, forced unbelievable drama and ... so many cuts per second you'll have to watch away to protect your eyes. Why?
