Unexpectedly Good..

Warning: Spoilers
This show certainly started out horribly , I really placed it nowhere near Arrow and Flash , it was really corny , the acting was bad , the storyline felt a bit weird and I still can't see how they are going to take this more than 1 season because its main storyline is to kill Vandal Savage, its not like he is a villain of the season like Arrow and Flash and there was never really any tension in the show , I really couldn't care when Carter died.

But this episode was something else .It had some real stakes , the acting wasn't really that bad(except Jax) and it was really a well edited and a great episode..I know everyone is saying that the Flash is currently the best out of the three although I feel that any episode without Zoom is not that great and feel Arrow is still a great show with some episodes way better than Flash but this week it was an all out Zoom episode so obviously it was better than Arrow but heck I can dare say that this episode of LOT was better than Arrow which is a first for it. And the last Arrow reveal or the star city reveal blew my mind in a way that Flash hasn't done in a while but Arrow did with Sins of The Father.

Gaining a New Edge

In what has been a pretty lackluster start for Legends of Tomorrow, I think Fail-Safe veered the show in a much better direction this week. The focus wasn't so much on destroying Vandal Savage as it was on saving half of the team, and I liked that change of pace. Stein, along with Ray and Mick were taken last week by the Soviets because Savage and in particular, Valentina Vostok were set on creating more Firestorms. The rest of the team back at the ship were forced to come up with a master plan to save their friends but also preserve the future.

One of the many strong points about this episode was that I felt as though the scenes flowed together much smoother. It seems as though the writers have found their groove in terms of writing the different dynamics between the characters and finding new ground in old material. Each character seemed to get their moment to shine tonight which has not at all been the case in the first 4 episodes. The only real issue I had with the writing was Kendra's assertiveness that she's "not afraid anymore", really? Didn't last week teach her anything?

It was fun to see Cisco pop up in the beginning as Stein hallucinated during his interrogation. It was the first of a few times Vostok and her crew attempted to use brutal tactics to convince Stein to spit out the formula, I only wish Cisco got a little bit more time on screen. Ray and Mick also got their fair share of beating and even shared a moment with each other after Ray took the torture for Mick. It was nice to see Ray be front and center as the overall good guy of the bunch as he hasn't had a ton of material to showcase that thus far.

Sara and Snart also had some good character development as the ladder surprisingly served as her means of reason as to not kill Stein in order to preserve Star City 2016. As always Sara/White Canary had the best fight scenes. This time taking out 6 Bratva members as Snart and Rip struggled with one. Captain Cold has definitely grown on me in the past few weeks and Sara once again proved to be the most complete character on the show. I hope to see more of them together in the coming weeks.

On a side note, there was a nice nod to Rian Johnson's 2012 film, Looper, as Jax communicated with Stein through cutting his own arm, and I liked that Jax got his time to shine at the end saving Stein from the Soviet Firestorm. I think overall, this was the best directed episode of the series thus far and perhaps next week could be even better with the setting of Star City 2046. Seeing Smoak Technologies was cool, but man it seems like Star City is in a difficult situation to say the least. I'm assuming that where the team landed was the glades part of the city, which sure looks like it did after the earthquakes during Malcom's attack in season 1. Anyways, can't wait to see bearded/one-armed Oliver next week.

+Balanced the characters

+Canary action

+Snart/Sara dynamic

+Ray stepped up

+Not focusing too much on Savage worked well

-Kendra's all of a sudden fine?

a nice paced one

Lately I enjoy more the episodic actors you bring in than the leaders. They are really good performers but they disappear with not too much explanation, such as Ancient Prisoner (Frank C. Turner) with a rich history as an isolated prisoner or that maniac Yard Guard (Raresh DiMofte) we should've seen more of his abuse of power, etc. Anyway, max rating for the underrated ones.

This show started with potential but has fizzled along the way.

Warning: Spoilers
The writers of this have really gotten terribly sloppy and the acting has suffered as the show has progressed. Heres the pros- 1. Great production value 2. All star cast 3. Great concept to build from Cons- Examples of terrible writing in the episode "failsafe" are.... Why would hawkgirl drop Jax on the opposite side of the compound forcing him to run past guards?!?! Fly to the box for god sake!! If that isn't lazy writing I don't know what is?!!? Also when white canary is debating on taking the shot on stein and snart tells her she isn't a killer anymore. OK, throughout the show she's killed countless people and will probably continue to do so. Semantics. In the time she fights her "killer" instincts she could have started sniping guards. I am steadily tiring of this plodding poorly written piece of trash. I am fairly certain this show is targetted for 12 year olds who only like the flash and bang of it all.

This just makes me mad

First off, I'm gonna say I'm a Russian, but I wouldn't' call myself a patriot. I never liked Russian old emblems, expressions, and like Stein said about USA "it's not perfect" nowdays, but.... how horrible a show must be to make a character say such things about Russia? Again, I'm not a patriot, but he said that it's ruled by crooks and criminals, that we don't have free voting, and we aren't allowed to love whoever we like. First off, if you came o Russia you wouldn't see any criminals, like is modern and peaceful. Of course, like in any country, there are criminals, but in my life I saw only a few. Stein made it look like it's like some kind of criminal country. I don't see the percentage of criminals here being bigger than in any other country. We don't have fair voting system? just wait till we are allowed to vote for another president after our economy crashed. Something tells me far less people will be supporting Putin during the next election. and third Stein said we are not allowed to love whoever we want. If it's about anti-gay thing everyone talks about then again - the law is NOT against being gay, you are allowed to have any orientation here as you want, nobody's gonna arrest you for that. The law is against gay PROPAGANDA which is completely different. We are allowed to have any partners we choose. Just because the propaganda is restricted doesn't mean the homosexual relationship is forbidden. it's like the writers of this show took the worst stereotypes of Russia and put it into Stein's speech.

Like it wasn't enough that the creators used google translate to make signs and covers in these 2 episodes, that many of the stereotypes about Russia were collected in one episode, after Stein's speech I don't think that Americans show russians like this because of ignorance, but because they actually want to hurt Russia and russians, presenting them this way to their target audience.

I was even gonna say "this episode made my day" when Snart said "this isn't my first prison break" (that like was awesome) but after Stein's speech I'm convinced this is one of the worst shows ever in terms of writing(and I don't just mean Russian stuff, Swiss cheese has less holes than logic in this show). Oh by the way, almsot forgot - Gulag prisons were closed in 1960. Yet it still exists even in Arrow.

Conclusion - Americans! don't be ignorant, don't believe shows like this and Arrow. Visit Russia yourself and make your own, genuine opinion about it, or at least listen to people WHO ACTUALLY WERE THERE, don't trust such terrible writers.
