Worst Final So Far
ZegMaarJus2 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This was definitely the worst final of Teen Wolf so far, still worth a 9/10 but still the least spectacular final. I hope the last Season 6 is going to be a banger of a season. There was not much action in the final only in the end it gets to a climax.

The best season finale
agentsofsword30 November 2021
This is my opinion but this finale felt more conclusive than the previous seasons.

Except for Kira's plot they really just did her bad. All the villain deaths were satisfying and well done! I love teen wolf glad I watched it!

Lost the Sent

Warning: Spoilers
In the words of Krusty the Clown "What the Hell was that!"

I rarely do these kinds of reviews but sometimes I just need to get it off my chest because this is one of those seasons that are so bad it's not even funny, it's also one of those ones where the more I see it and even remotely think about it, the worse it gets. Just like a werewolf's rage this season was infuriating to watch; let alone a chore to get though which is never a good sign. The whole season was the classic case of having so much but so little. I know I'm probably could be in the minority on this but this is just how I feel.

There isn't much I can say about the story as it's suppose to be the big payoff but the problem is there isn't one, granted everything concluded but not in a satisfying way. Like buying a six pack of imitation pop from a dollar store, after drinking one you really feel like you didn't get your money's worth much like this whole season.

As I said before this just has a grocery list of problems, I'll just present a few because there are too many and it is downhill from here.

Theo (or whoever the hell he is as that's not his real name), I do like the idea of a poison pill in the pack, but the execution was off. This villain has two problems. Number one, he's s a bit of a Mary Sue, just how he sews in the seeds of deceit I feel he does too easily. Let alone not done all that well as their obvious red flags that even a novice "Game of Thrones" fan could spot a mile away. Number two, his motives make no cohesive sense, like a wolf that downed too much Cappuccino their practically all over the place as it seems like his goal is this but then it's suddenly switches up to another. I never like it when motives are too many or all over the place because it means the continuity in story gets screwed up.

Characters were just getting their butts kicked too much, like some of the fights were a little poorly choreographed in places let alone we never really saw the pack get one real one hit or victory except though luck which I don't always like as that element can easily be misused and it becomes sort of the story and characters deus ex Machina to resolve situations.

But worst of all each of the characters mainly supporting characters get crap canned too much or even just out of character. From Scott who was out of character in some of the season as he's been acting like an incompetent idiot. Even a rookie commander couldn't make his mistake, Scott broke one of the most important rules of command which is "never give your complete trust to someone not within your unit." Theo is a werewolf so what, that doesn't automatically give him admission to your pack.

In each season heroes are supposed to be stronger than before and when they meet the next challenge it's an opportunity for them to become stronger, not the opposite otherwise it renders the past journey and accomplishments pointless. Granted, Scott did wise up on the second half of the season and pick up the pieces, but it just didn't make up for what happened before which demonstrated poor leadership, which jeopardized the whole pack and that's dangerous.

Should of at the end, stepped down from leadership and Styles is made Alpha, I know that didn't happen but should've; I know Scott in the end did good deeds but good deeds don't give you a pardon nor should. Scott's stepping down would have been a hard lesson for him as to why he should take his Alpha role more seriously and strongly but also shows the strength of his integrity knowing when your not worthy for a role. Also despite stepping down we could seen him in the next season build himself up to build his rank again but most importantly why he's worthy of the title of hero.

The supporting characters truly got the blunt end of things. From my favorite character/main man Styles, he really got crap canned. I still don't forgive Scott for his total desertion of him all because of Scott's hypocritical bullcrap and just stupidly believing someone he doesn't even know. I'll admit two highlights was seeing Style beat the crap out of Scott and just expressing his anger toward him on not just failure to protect his dad but everything in general, I though yeah Styles good for you, what Styles did and expressed was our own disappointment in Scott. Really also like that despite Theo working with the pack (I honestly don't know why) for a little bit, Styles didn't trust him for one moment, yeah Theo's bullcrap tactics aren't going to work on him.

Lydia another favorite character of mine/ my main woman, also got crap canned a lot. It's really depressing just seeing her go though it both physically and mentally, almost makes me wonder if some writer in the room hate's this character. Her mom was a real stupid b.... in this season as she committed her daughter for no good reason, stupidly thinking by doing this her powers or all the supernatural business is going to all go away. Wow what kind of kindergarten bullcrap is that, because no it's not just like the news on "USA Today" and "CNN" it didn't unhappen. Let alone, it makes no sense as the mom perfectly knew about Lydia's abilities and was okay, when did this 180 come up? It was also stupid that Scott wouldn't believe Lydia and her visions, even though he perfectly knows their always accurate, again when did the 180 come up.

But the worst part of all is both Styles and Lydia both don't have much to do, they do a little to sort of help turn things around but not enough. Same goes with a lot of other supporting characters as they were just too many, like it was nice seeing Chris Argent again which was cool but he wasn't really in it very long or did much to turn things around. Would have been cool to also see Issac, actually if he was in the season the whole mess with Theo could have been avoided as his psychic powers could of automatic keyed in that Theo wasn't who he seemed. I always like the concept of all the good guys coming together for one big final fight which has been done throughout time like "Avengers: Endgame" but it only works when everyone has a hand in things; in this season and episode there were a lot of hand but very little help.

Don't like the twist at the end with the Dread Doctors which really makes no sense when you think about it more. The Dread Doctors I throughout were really cool looked like they could have been a villainous sect from "Hellboy", it made me think that may 'be as things develop, we would discover that either they were dimensional beings which would have introduced cosmic horror to the series or part of some bigger conspiracy by a sect they serve may 'be "Illuminati" or some famous secret sect we've heard about from the conspiracy stories; but no neither option happened.

The season also couldn't decide who the main villain is let alone just too many, at first it was Theo but then suddenly "The Beast of Chivalan" comes into the picture out of nowhere and is running things, or with Lydia's case there is this one no name Doctor character that might be running the show but then it switches to another villain; villains working together alone or not, seriously did I miss something.

When a season is this bad it also means plenty of missed and mishandled opportunities and this season had plenty of them. Like in the final minutes we see Theo all superpowered up and I thought may 'be both Scott and him would have a throwdown but that didn't happen. Or even a final throwdown with the Dread Doctors up to their final tricks which didn't happen. Characters getting separated too much too long which meant dynamics and interactions not happening. Really hated what happened to Kira in the end which really made no sense whatsoever, though I did like one thing she did which might be a bit of a deus ex Machina and which it was more of a finishing move but oh well take what I can get from this.

Whether the seasons after this one have more focus and can repair and salvage the damage from this season you'll just have to wait and see but hopefully not as bad, though no guarantees as it really can be hard to follow up. So as a fan of the show just like any werewolf just run past this season because you really aren't missing much of anything.

Rating: 1 star Season 5: 1 star.

Ugh

So many continuity issues. Jumps around to too many different stories. Just feels incomplete and rushed. Built up a whole story then rushed it in the final 2 episodes of the season.
