This film essentially begins with a poor farmer by the name of "Tony Maio" (Fabrizio Occhipinti) hearing a strange noise not too far from the cabin in which he lives and being somewhat curious about it he heads out in his underwear to check it out. As it so happens, a meteorite has just landed near his cornfield and upon further examination he is splattered with some kind of liquid which changes him into a hideous creature with homicidal tendencies. That said, after donning the clothes of a scarecrow hanging nearby, he finds a machete and proceeds to hack up almost everyone in his path for the sole purpose of infecting their corpses with spores which will help repopulate the planet Mars. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this was a low-budget film which had the usual problems associated with productions of this sort. The acting was mediocre, the special effects were rather cheap-looking and the action scenes could have used significant improvement as well. But what really ruined this film from my standpoint was the crude manner in which the director (George Nevada) kept focusing on either a person's genitals or their bodily functions. Likewise, the crass dialogue from the alien narrator didn't help matters either. Admittedly, there was a nice shower scene at the start and a good "Wizard of Oz" clip a littler later on that showed some promise. Unfortunately, the director reverted back to form immediately afterward for some strange reason. That being said, if not for the two brief scenes just mentioned I would have rated this film even lower than I have.
