Season 2 was dedicated to Peter Temple, author of the Jack Irish novels. He died on March 8, 2018 in Ballarat, Australia.
Aaron Pedersen (Cam Delray), Damien Richardson (Drew Greer) & Terry Norris (Eric) also worked together on City Homicide (2006) as Duncan Freeman, Matt Ryan & Bill Lalor respectively.
Adapted from the detective novels by author Peter Temple, Jack Irish began life as three feature-length movies, before being adapted into an ongoing series, of which two six-episode blocks have been broadcast thus far.
Filming was undertaken across Melbourne and Victoria, in particular the suburb of Fitzroy. Jack's house was done on location as well as The Prince Of Prussia, called the Napier Hotel, which are both located in Fitzroy. Other locations include Federation Square, Melbourne University and Docklands.
Renewed for a third and final series in 2020. Set to air in 2021.
