This was one of the best Blue Bloods episodes I've seen. All about a most luckless reporter trying to earn himself a Pulitzer and coming up very short.
Journalist Zachary Booth gets permission to do a ride along with Will Estes and Vanessa Ray. They answer a shots fired call and after most reluctantly agreeing to stay in the car, while Estes and Ray are looking for a perpetrator, Booth gets shot up inside their vehicle. Fortunately for him he was wearing a bullet proof vest.
I don't know about you, but that experience might scar me for life and I would be most cooperative with the police in their investigation. The thought is that in addition to the vest, Booth was also wearing one of those NYPD windbreakers and he was thought to be a cop.
You know that that other Reagan brother Donnie Wahlberg and his partner Marisa Ramirez got the case. But Booth has an agenda all his own and stymies their investigation at every opportunity. I have to say that my sympathies grew less and less as I watched the story and were practically non-existent at the end.
What happens to Booth and the perpetrator is truly poetic justice.
This one is a must for Blue Bloods fans.
