Best episode so far..
punkyashi5 February 2016
This was by far the best episode. It is definitely improving and on the right track now. Acting is less cringe-giving. The only complaint i have is the weak dialogue now. And it still feels weird to see the FBI-like quarters as the Shadowhunters'institute but its kinda ignorable i guess.. In this episode, i loved Alec, his timid smile , his Alec-shrug, Matt's definitely a way better Alec than the one in the movie and he's doing Alec justice. I'm disappointed they're letting Izzy be like just a fashionista,no acting improvement from Emeraude (she only talks and smiles basically .-.) Simon was already the best from the start and Jace's kinda growing on me. Kat's acting is kinda getting better but she's not really Clary yet to me. Harry's getting there but not quite as good as Godfrey was but i'm willing to give him time since he's not the worse on the show. We finally get to see some Malec action,a tad bit more Clace(less cringe-worthy than the last episode!)and Izzy-Alec moments. My fav part of this episode was definitely Malec <3 I still don't absolutely love it but i don't hate it either and i'm a huge fan of the books. I'm def gonna be giving it time. Watching this now i want more!! #Shadowhunters #TMI <3

I had fun with this episode

I think is the best episode so far! The show had a little rocky start, which is to be expected since it's based off of a very detailed book series. The characters are getting fleshed out and the actors feel and look more comfortable in their respective roles. I watched this episode with my best friend, who hasn't read the books, and she commented that this episode reminded her a lot of Charmed and Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which I realized that it does remind me of those to shows. It has a very magical vibe infused with a vast world, that I really am enjoying. I like the special effects, although they do look a little cheap, but it's to be expected from a first season network show. I'm intrigued by each story line, and especially Valentine's. If this show keeps going the way it is, it could be one of my favorite supernatural shows.

Even tho there are still flaws, the show is improving

This show isn't great yet, but it's starting to be. I liked the 3rd episode a little bit better, but this one is almost as good.

The movie still does the book series a little bit more justice, but the show is definitely improving. Since the last episode, this started to feel like a much bigger world than it was shown in the first two episodes and that feeling isn't lost here. This episode had a part of the book, but this is the most original episode yet and the plot of this episode is much more on its own and it was done in a very interesting way. I think it's a very good thing that they are starting to expand the world. And also, in this episode, a fan favorite bromance is introduced - Malec (Magnus and Alec). I don't really care about the romance in this story but, Malec- shippers, you won't be disappointed. But I didn't like Magnus Bane in this episode. He was cool in the previous ones (and one of my favorite characters in the books), but here he's kinda annoying. I'm not homophobic at all, but it's like they wanted to make it very clear that he's gay in this episode, but he's actually bisexual. The most memorable scene in the episode is the one with the memory demon. It was very well done and I think Alec's reveal couldn't be executed in a better way and Matthew Daddario played the part perfectly in that scene and also looking at the acting, he's one of the best. CGI could be better, but it's already a little bit better than before. So, in conclusion, this was a very interesting episode and I hope Freeform keeps it up this way and even better!

This is the episode where most people get really into the show

In this episode, one of my favourite TV characters of all time gets a proper introduction. Besides that, the episode also deserves a high rating because two persons finally meet.
