Great Little Indie Film
supergrandefilms-111 May 2018
An entertaining film that spotlights relationships and the hurdles of expectations. All I Want pushes our range of emotions with an ensemble of characters that we can all relate to. The writing is thoughtful and sensitive. Thumbs up all around.

Touchingly beautiful
Phil_Chester16 August 2018
A touchingly beautiful musing on the complexity of life, love and relationships. A kind of 'Abigail's Party' meets 'Rachel Getting Married' with an Altmanesque multi-protagonist format, such as in 'Short Cuts', 'Nashville' and 'Gosford Park'. A really strong indie dramedy that is a delight to recommend.

why millennial require no birth control
evony-jwm15 November 2019
First I thought it was bad acting, then thought it was poor plot, then I realized the millennial generation are so self obsessed they have cut off their parents, cut off their kids or typically don't have any, finally have "friends" notice that's in quotes because they don't really have any friends nor real relationships. it must suck to be them. rated one because this movie is just depressing

Who needs therapists if you have weed?
jroyals-0434120 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This film has some solid acting and Melissa Center is quite appealing. The twist is not unexpected but actually effective. Then things go off a cliff fast. Too many subplots including 15 minutes of padding involving a gay sister and her lover. Then we get the circle of weed smokers in which of course everyone takes a puff and is seemingly transformed by it. The one couple wasted a year in therapy when all they really needed was some grass to smoke. Brilliant!

One of those you have to watch until the end...
tommyamrani24 April 2018
This movie was fun and definitely not obvious. I love movies that require you sit through the end in order to piece everything together- this was no exception. The movie had me guessing several times- and I was wrong every time. That's a testament to the good / creative writing.

The cast definitely had amazing on-screen chemistry. All the characters really played well of each other. There was definite build up to a climactic end which is what makes a movie great.

I thoroughly enjoyed the lead actress and hope to see more of her in the future.

Such an Enjoyable Film!!
bohemianpirate-871-38348718 February 2020
All I Want is one of those slice of life dramas that feels so real you'd think they read your mind! At least that's what it was like for me watching this great drama unfold. I love a solid ensemble relationship story and this was precisely that! It reminded me of those great ensemble movies like the Big Chill and St. Elmo's Fire in the sense that it's a tight knit group of friends dealing with the very real feelings underneath their social niceties. Highly Recommend this film!!

Great Indie Flick!
bgianci-790-7725401 May 2018
This was a great find for me. A diamond in the rough. Some really meaty subject matter in this adorable indie flick that delves into the heartache of divorce, not only for the couple but for their friends as well. The director did a wonderful job of balancing this heavy subject matter with some good comedic moments and light hearted banter. Great acting across the board and a very tightly woven script.

Great movie for Gen Xers.
turrou-66-90704811 November 2019
Remember when our parents used to watch that show 30something on TV? I'm pretty sure this is that for our generation. All I Want tackles what it's like to be in your late 30's/early 40's and facing all of the questions about what it means to be a grown up and how to live an authentic life. The filmmaking was great, as was the acting and music.

Starts a little slow, but gets you in the end.
Graham-joey25 April 2019
This is a pretty well acted dramedy about people moving on from a marriage of 10 years....and I think they thought it would be a fun thing to get all their friends together to let them know they are divorcing but realize they are not feeling as lighthearted as they may have initially thought. Thus ensues a bit of drama and a comedy of errors. There are highs and lows in the filmmaking, but when it was over it was able to get me to buy into theses peoples lives and feel a little emotional about how fast time feels like its going by once you're in your late 30s (which all of these characters seem to be...so maybe I am the mark for this). Was a good watch the girlfriend.

Everything about this film is solid. The cast is great, good writing, solid direction.
simonmoon8 November 2019
A couple have an anniverssary party at their home. More description of the plot would not be helpful. Everthing about this film is thouroughly professional. The actors, although relatively unknown are all serious actors, especially the leads Center and Rausch. Center as the primary character, and co-writer really shines. Her on screen presence is a 10. The script shows what can be done on a tiny budget without looking cheap. The movie is almost exclusively shot at one house and its yard. Charm, good writing, and solid direction create a indy film really worth seeing.

Real and relatable
cbax12312 February 2020
This movie felt so real and relatable. This movie doesn't tackle huge issues or have special effects and explosions but instead portrays real relationships with flawed people. I found it very refreshing and really enjoyed going on the journey with the main characters. If you're looking for an indie about relationships and the difficulties of them check it out!

Fun relationship film.
helgocast26 February 2020
An enjoyable movie about the ups and down of having friends and relationships. I have to admit this is a handsome cast. I wish I had a group of friends that were that good looking. Well acted and nicely filmed.

A life affirming piece
dooqofurl-11 December 2019
What makes a drama like this work begins with a premise, and "All I Want" has a doozy. Anniversaries can be momentous times, and Mel and Drew supply the fuel for the moment. The theme here is broad yet simple: Where do we go from here? Of course, this gives rise other questions such as: "Did I make the right choice?" or "Should we have children?" Mix these weighty items with a sense of humor, and you have a thought-inducing, life affirming piece. Try it on for size; it may be your cup of afternoon tea.

All I Want Is More Indie Films Such As This One!
angelina-54154121 February 2020
If you believe in the importance of ensemble casts, then this film is for you. I've always loved films like "The Anniversary Party" and "St. Elmo's Fire", and this indie gem brings that same flavor. Drew and Mel feel like your next-door neighbors...they are so tangible and real.

Relationships are not easy, nor are making films about relationships, but this one flows seamlessly.

an interesting look at 'consciously uncoupling'
jc-655-8694345 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Expectations, conventions and...friends. When a married couple decides to separate, mutual friends can often be a casualty in proceedings, having to choose sides somehow. This deftly directed film offers an alternative vision: it weaves the closely-entwined threads of friendship within a group of longtime pals into a touching portmanteau that reflects on personal courage and possibilities pre- and post-breakup. The wonderful ensemble cast go a long way in carrying the argument that, indeed, breaking up doesn't have to be a zero-sum game. Catch this movie for a bittersweet yet hopeful take on moving on when a relationship has run out of road.

Fantastic Indie Film
filmentity-205162 April 2020
I thoroughly enjoyed this film. It has such a relatable approach to the complexities of relationships that I kept thinking "that's my life." I really identified with the protagonist and the journey of her marriage. And I really feel like I have been to THAT party! So much can happen in one night and this story took me on quite a ride. I got choked up at the end, truth be told. Really loved this movie. I could not stop watching!!

Authentic indie drama about relationships
JGReviews23 April 2019
"All I Want" is an honest indie drama about the difficulties of adult relationships. Mel and Drew are having a 10th anniversary party at their house with their closest friends, but beneath the celebratory atmosphere we notice that their relationship is on the rocks. They don't seem to be the only couple who is dealing with challenges. Several couples are facing the challenges that are all too familiar to those in their 30s or so, like whether to have kids and generally keeping up with the Joneses. I have to admit that I've heard these conversations amongst my friends in real life, so the film feels like an authentic glimpse into modern day relationships at that age.

Several performances in the film are quite good and the chemistry, or intentional lack there of, amongst the wide ensemble of actors is evident as they play off of each other very well. I also appreciated that while the film is dealing with some challenging issues in relationships, the film also offers just enough laughs so that the film never gets too heavy and is consistently enjoyable. I'd highly recommend "All I Want" to anyone interested in an authentic drama about relationships.

Great Ensemble Film
TheAll-SeeingI23 April 2019
West Liang is at the helm of "All I Want," directing an ensemble cast through the full gamut of relationship-driven dynamics in a film that's as thought-provoking as it is enjoyable.

As Mel, Melissa Center is the film's female lead, and she anchors things down in a complicated role performed with terrific aplomb. We soon find her at a party held on her behalf, as she's celebrating a 10-year anniversary with husband Drew. Some news drops at the party, and this serves as the driver for the film's storyline progression.

This is a great cast. They hold their own individually, and demonstrate cohesion as a group. Liang's story is real and allows her cast to breathe and find space in the film. It's not action or the proverbial great reveal that drives "All I Want." It's the convincing nature of its cast of characters living believable and interesting lives within the confines of a hugely believable film.

Enjoyed it
artistgp1 November 2019
A very sincere indie drama that deals with the different types of relationships we hold. The filmmakers did a nice job giving us different perspectives on what it's like to "adult" in this crazy world that's filled with complications and trials. I enjoyed it a lot.
