More than amazing

Very clean and honest story , such stories are very important especially in a country like south africa where we still have blacks coming from such backgrounds that none of us choose to embody .its inspiring and uplifting and it reminds of our old stories like soul city and yizo yizo. Not flashy just an honest way to tell the truth and making sure the one who is to recieve the message finds it ripe and not over diluted with alot of lies and misinterpretation of fact . Well done to the team honestly speaking i think we need more of such content .our local television content is weak we need more of this staff .

Not just another, sports achievement movie.

Whilst most sports movies make for fairly tedious viewing, 'Beyond the River' gives you so much more. It's more of a case of the 'haves and the have not's' and concerns a poor black man from Soweto, teaming up with a middle class white dude from 'Joburg'. Though they both have terrible problems in their lives, they compete as a double act, in the most grueling (long distance) canoe races.

This movie tells a refreshing story of Dusi Canoe Marathon in South Africa, which entails the connection between real talent from Soweto and the Canoe champion from Joburg.

This story takes you to a Canoe marathon played in South Africa. As the story is based on true events which provides it more depths to follow. The movie is centered on a Canoe champion, Steve from Joburg, whose love for this game connects him to a fella from Soweto, Duma.

As the Soweto friend knows the common life style of his friend from Joburg, but not vice-versa. This point starts in movie at some point, which finally unites them for Canoe marathon. This story starts weaving and enlights the everyday tough life in Soweto. "I am coming for you big man" dialogue and the scene by Zama gives you laugh and and also thought provoking for us in the current world.

You can make this stuff up, real, true, honest movie. This is what South Africa is about. Great movie, great acting, great directing and great cinematography. One to see
