- In Kattegat, Ragnar announces the scheduled date to attack Paris and gives the arm rings to his sons Ubbe and Hvitserk that will travel with him. Meanwhile in Wessex King Ecbert sends Alfred with Judith's teacher on a pilgrimage to Rome and asks his son Aethelwulf to go with them while he commands the attack to Mercia. Ragnar, Lagherta and Harold sail to Paris with their warriors and face a storm during the voyage splitting their fleet. They set up a camp and when they join the ships, they row up the river to Paris. Rollo and Count Odo organize the defense of the town with the French army.
