Brilliant second episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Merilly made the grim discovery of Canon Dobbs's body, she explains her recent episode with Joy, and she tells the Police she believes Dobbs was killed by the same person that crucified Paul Sayer. Huw turns up to lend a hand, but a case of desecration happens in the local church, a crow is killed and left on the alter, evidence of a Satanic ritual. Merilly and Huw carry out an exorcism on the Church, but all doesn't go well as it seems Merilly herself is possessed. Merilly begins looking deeper into the life of Canon Dobbs. Social worker Lol had discovered a dead crow at Rowenna's house (friend of Merilly's daughter Jane.) Jane starts getting close to psychic Angela Purefoy, who sees visions of Jane's dead father. Lol looks into Rowenna's history and her former Foster parents tell him to have nothing to do with her. We learn more of the death of Merilly's husband, and she tells Huw he'd been having an affair just before his death. An angry Jane walks out on her mum.

A very harrowing second episode, I never thought ITV would be so brave as to produce something along these lines, we've been fed so many safe dramas for so long, it's refreshing to have something a little different. Visually outstanding. The best bit for me was when Angela manipulates Jane, it's so very dark. Siobhan Finneran is an outstanding actress. Leila Mimmack also great as Rowenna, she'd been so good in Homefires recently too.

It's annoying that the viewing figures were so low, then it was up against Bake off. So many people missed a real treat. 9/10
