Directors Joost van der Valk and Mags Gavan received unprecedented access to Satudarah facilities and members for two years, because the motor club's leaders wanted to show the world a different side of their infamous organization, besides the one that is often associated with violence and criminal activities.
Satudarah members were reportedly not too happy that the film starts with a member being violently reprimanded, but according to director Joost van der Valk, he just took some advice at heart from a BBC producer who told him that "every film should start with a f##k or a fight".
