Warning: Spoilers
"An Object at Rest" is an animated short film from 2 years ago (2015) made by American filmmaker Seth Boyden. It runs for under 6 minutes, but includes quite a lot of action as this one is about several thousands of years and we see what happens to a piece of rock during this long time. It is a fairly smart little work as the action is fun to watch and interesting and almost educational at the same time. The ways in which the rock changes in size and shape make very much sense and I also liked the ending that somehow emphasizes the eternal circle of life reference. It is definitely among the better animated short films from 2015 and i recommend checking it out for sure. Closer to an 8 out of 10 than to a 4 out of 10, but really great moments are missing for me to include it in a best-of-the-year-list. It sure makes me curious about future projects by Boyden. See it.
