Very dramatic
serenity-ma25 November 2015
In addition to the crisis in the hospital, I think it was a good plot point to incorporate a visit from Walter's parents and see how they responded to Walter and Sylvester. His father was more cold toward Walter than I anticipated, and his mother seemed to want to avoid conflict. I was surprised the father was extremely rude to Sylvester and commented on his childishness for having the items from his favorite show. Eventually, the parents realized how very much Sylvester loved their daughter and that he was with her even though they were not.

I enjoyed the way the team was able to balance compassion for individuals' needs while combating a life-threatening problem. It was rather harrowing to see the dangerous stunts Walter and Paige performed in order to return to Megan's room before it was too late to say good- bye.

There were some heart-warming moments as well - the view of the sky and stars that Sylvester prepared for Megan, Walter and his father working together to seal a contaminated room, and Walter squeezing Paige's hand while he talked to his family and friends...enjoy.

Wishing For a Miracle
skwood-6366424 September 2021
I do wish for a miracle for those who have MS, a terrible debilitating disease that effects the myelin sheath around nerves.

One never knows where or when death will occur with MS, in my case I had watched my daughter expire slowly, in my eyes I was useless in helping, helped as much in watching the programs we both of liked, I was with her when she took her last breath.

Arrivals a Departures brought back so many memories of her life.

I still can't say Goodbye.

Warning: Spoilers
We get to meet 'Bacteria Man' in this episode. Sylvester gets to be the hero, love it. Poor Megan, what a sad day. We knew it was coming but it still sucks.

Amazing Episode

IF this Episode doesn't make you a Fan your are NOT Human. A LOT of people post on these boards that what these guys do is impossible. Really? Do YOU Have a 197 IQ? IF Not, how the H#LL do YOU Know you Ignorant Wretch. These episodes "apply solutions" that only a Gifted few could Ever come up with. Take the Show on THAT Basis and, Appreciate IT'S Genius. As for this Episode, the ending with "I'll put on a cup of coffee" shows a Relation to ALL of us who have: either lost a loved one, or been estranged from someone close to us. APPRECIATE And RESPECT this episode for bringing Out That!!!

Holy crap! This was a bad episode.

Warning: Spoilers
Absolutely nothing was scientifically accurate. Nothing. Spoilers...but really, don't watch it anyway, its bad.

Here is a list of just some of the many many things wrong with this show. Except #4 thats the only thing this show got right in it's whole gloriously bad run.

1: If Walter and his sister grew up in Dublin, why do they both have American accents?

2: Mold doesn't spread like that. Ever.

3: Happy found it easier to hack the security cameras then look up a doctor's phone extension on a hospital directory.

4: Only good thing this show has done ever. Quote from the show - Walter: "I run a team of geniuses who happen to be in this hospital right now..." Doctor: "good for you..." *hangs up phone* (this is also how the pitch meeting for this show should have gone)

5: They don't spray fungicide on walls to get rid of mold and if they did, it wouldn't make it spread faster. They spray bleach. Nothing survives bleach.

6: If the infectious disease team is wearing protective gear, why did they all pass out?

7: Fire doors don't have dead bolts on them.

8: Liquid nitrogen and plaster? Really?

9: Why does a hospital have a big room with a giant fan instead of standard HVAC units?

10: Killing a fungus doesn't make it magically disappear.

11: Pickled eggs are pickled in a brine which is made from salt and vinegar. These are used specifically to stop the growth of bacteria. It would be very hard to find a worse growth medium.

12: Boiling the bacteria would kill it.

13: Happy puts on an apron, hair net, and gloves, but no mask to protect her from the spores?

14: How do you drill a hole in a gas pipe with a cork screw and a hammer?

15: Even if you are able to distribute a cure for the fungal infection, people just don't magically wake up and have all traces of the fungus disappear...

Seriously, for a show about a team of geniuses, they have some seriously dumb writers.

Now it gets idiotic!
opinionated-alchemist1 December 2015
Warning: Spoilers
There were often points in this series, which were improbable, unrealistic, yeah stupid - however this episode just tops it.

While other TV shows nowadays show a lot of over the top fiction, I am just expecting, that Scorpion is better than them - eventually it supposed to portrait smart people. It is even worse, that the writers obviously insulting the intelligence of the viewers!

A "super fungus" which spreads like fire ants. An accidental "super bacteria", which can "vanish" the spores instantly? Using pickled eggs as growing medium (everyone who has a bit of knowledge about fermenting knows, that this won't happen easily], drilling into a gas pipe and ignite the gas, delivering the "super-virus" via steam (usually this won't happen, due to the fact, that steam would instantly sterilize the bacteria, the instant healing of everyone infected, not to forget the back-to-back climbing, which pro-athletes even won't make. Yes - this series is an insult for people with only an average understanding of science or any common sense!

Besides of this, the portrayal of gifted individuals is just moronic. The actors are just really bad in acting and seem not to be able to immerse into their characters.

Don't get me wrong, when the show started, I thought that it was a interesting and bold attempt to show different protagonists and characters. The show had its downsides, but it could become better. Unfortunately it became a discount MacGyver copy, with less realistic stories. So I doubt, that I will after this episode disaster continue to watch it. Please cancel it before it becomes totally ridiculous - oh, well it might be already too late!

Most unscientific episode of whole series
maria_garcia_us8 January 2023
Could the studio not afford to hire a botanist? How about a virologist? Microbiologist? Anyone who knows anything about fungi or bacteria? Or what steam would do to either? How about a physicist & what liquid nitrogen and plaster of paris?

I absolutely love this show but this episode sucked rocks, big time. Why? Because while my intelligence quotient isn't as high as any of the geniuses (but obviously higher than the waitress) I can relate to them; what they went through as children, issues with their relationships with their parents, difficulty in making friends or being understood by most people, getting picked last for sports, having odd interests, etc. So while I do NOT get most of what they are saying / doing, this episode was a huge disappointment because I did understand.
