South African filmmaking duo Hayden Phipps and Brett Williams may have facetiously labelled their production company One Trick Pony Films but their most recent effort, The Parcel, makes it abundantly clear that they've got far more to offer than just one trick. Accomplished visual artists, both of them - Phipps a photographer, Williams a painter, both of gallery quality - the level of craft on display in The Parcel is absolutely fantastic, as is the duo's marvelous ability to carry narrative, tone and character with no dialogue whatsoever.A haunting tale of a suburban man's encounter with a mysterious parcel.
