A recovery
dierregi28 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
After the dramatic events of Season 1 final episode, Bube Malka is still in a coma, for about eight months - which can be dated by Giti advanced pregnancy - when Shulem's brother and his beautiful daughter Libbi arrive from Belgium.

Shulem is very disappointed when his mother recovers after hearing his brother's voice. Akiva and the rest of the family are pleased and Akiva gets to know why his beautiful cousin came over to Israel: they'r looking for a match for her.

Giti and Lipa, probably in desperate need for money, go to see a rich widow who would like their child to be named Zelig. This is a part of Jewish customs I know nothing about, but it was interesting to learn. The widow is willing to pay them 50,000 Euros, for the naming, which seems an enormous amount of money.

As usual, Giti is a wet blanket, filled with negativity and wants to withdraw from the deal, despite the need for money. Then she gets to feel sorry for the widow and accepts to name her child Zelig for free.

Lipa, annoyed by his wife's attitude goes back to see the widow alone and asks for some cash, which he gets.

Wonderful Show

I'm completely enjoying this wonderful program. The storylines are riddled with complex human themes of love, loss, commitment, as well as religious obligations and traditions. It's so well acted and I dread finishing season 2 and being done. This is a rare gem of a show.
