My overall rating of "Happy Valley"'s Season 2: 5/10
I have a lot of issues with this particular episode, debatably the worst of the series. Winnie is annoying, not comedic; the pronunciation of "Knezevic" (even by the alleged native speakers of Serbo-Croatian) has some strange, inexplicable, annoying vowel in between "k" and "n" (not to mention that the "z" here - a symbol which this site doesn't allow me to correctly type in for whatever reason - should probably make the "zh" sound, if nothing else); the whole "Catherine visits the other funeral" scene is melodramatic, drama for the sake of drama; same with Clare's relapse (and the set-up for Ann's kinda-sorta problems?..); and I don't really understand John's "initial" plan, if he had a different one: increasingly drunkenly inquiring about the photos and not taking "yes" for an answer would have surely roused Vicky's suspicion, and if he had no other plan then him looking shocked at the end is incredibly bizarre; people strangely keep placing stuff on the floor etc etc.
The good moments mostly have to do with the admirable acting: Catherine is great as usual; Ann and John certainly have some chemistry etc.
