I've been to funerals far more entertaining and exciting than this. Do you know what it takes for me to give 2? Do you know what it takes for me to give 2 to ANY type of movie about aliens?
I don't like to talk too much when I hate so much a thing. There was one thing I liked: the cinematography. Cool, nice colors, great usage of external space. Only thing. A little joke or two worked too. Just it. Not even the performances of a range of good actors who look like completely amateurs around here. The script is bad, terrible. With a fairly simple story, it's still the bad dialogue that takes the spotlight, with such stupid and cringe lines.
The only thing that got me through these agonizing hours - they even included this expression as a line - was just a few unintentionally funny scenes. Scenes so poorly created, so poorly exposed, so poorly developed, I could only laugh. That alone kept me from not falling into a deep sleep during this festival of boredom. And I regret not having done it. Because at times I could feel that the director was putting some things on screen and thinking "look how good I am?!", as he was going a great thing and, if you know me, you know I hate pretentiousness.
