The connection of characters
ZainaDeeb24 December 2017
Warning: Spoilers
A short-term encounter briefly merges two lives in a tiny bubbled back seat of a taxi. Shawky and Doaa are at opposite ends of their defined worlds. He (sick, old and weak) is on the verge of losing interest in the vibrancy of life. While She (lively, youthful, and naïve) is ready to explore her life with arms wide open.

The trick lies when the viewer gets that such definitive humane-characteristics could easily melt when two souls cross paths. Nothing can stand in the face of a hot dry summery day --

And while Shawky carries a yellow bag - a color that hints to old age as things turn yellow when they become old, she wears red lipstick - a color seductively intended to celebrate life. There is no way they end up together and the world doesn't care, never cared, and will keep busy on rolling fast no matter what --

BUT somewhere between the busy streets of Cairo and the fast tumor ready to kill Shawky, an unconscious connection of warmth presents itself against all -- a warm breeze that would stay with them both forever.. even after that hot dry summery day is long gone --
