I disagree with the rest of the reviewers; yet another huge ratings trap. This episode's premise is focused on Ash and his gang getting out of a deep hole, and reaching Anistar City. This episode has unfortunate implications due to a depiction of cruelty against rabbits, as evidenced as the ensemble dark-horse's gym leader's Bunnelby getting injured. It is also a rip off of Putting Your Hoof Down from My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic due to the bunny getting hurt by it's evolution. Almost nothing of substance happens with the entire story, so the writers put in a few to no first 493 Pokémon from the first four generations, which are reduced to flashbacks, which is the worst move ever. Also, there are no likable characters to enjoy, nor are they good, except for the bunny's evolution. In conclusion, the gang all visit a mysterious mine.
unnecessary cruelty: 3/5. unfortunate implications: 3/5. low production values: 2.5/5. loss of likability: 4/5. lackluster writing: 5/5.
other notes: this episode should be banned in rotation due to it's depiction on cruelty against rabbits, like i said earlier. The other main problem is a step in the bunny's loss of likability and the anime industry crash of 2016. This episode took a fraction of ren seeks help and my little pony's putting your hoof down, and this show enjoys it's position of being the new teen titans go.
